Money in Back Pocket Upgrade your ho-hum credit card to one that puts money in your pocket. Card experts Erica Sandberg and Ben Woolsey of CreditCards.com name the three best cash-back cards.
  • Chase Freedom Visa has no annual fee and gives unlimited 1% cash back on all purchases—but every three months, you can earn 5% in certain categories (with a $1500 maximum). Just be sure to pay attention to the categories. (Through March, earn 5% at gas stations and on Amazon.)

  • Blue Cash Everyday from American Express offers 3% cash back at supermarkets, 2% at gas stations and department stores, and 1% on everything else. Plus, there’s no annual fee.
If your credit isn’t top-notch, you still have a good option:
  • The Capital One No Hassle Cash Rewards card charges a $39 annual fee, but the perks are solid: 2% cash back on gas and groceries, 1% cash back on everything else, no limits or expirations, and you can set up automatic redemptions.
Cash in. What’s your favorite credit card—and why?
