Hope springs eternal, especially when it comes to the quest for glowing skin. The new hybrid skin-care trend might help.

Why apply foundation, concealer, moisturizer, serums, primer, and more—if you can get a product that does it all?

Here’s to a slimmer makeup bag—and a shorter A.M. makeup routine.

BB Creams

Depending on the brand or formulation, BB creams (“beauty balm” or “blemish balm”) act as a primer, tinted moisturizer, foundation, anti-aging serum, pimple treatment, and sunscreen—all in one.

Garnier BB Cream Miracle Skin Perfector ($12.99) Non-greasy and easily absorbed, this sheer formula hydrates, brightens, protects, and boosts radiance with antioxidant-rich Vitamin C.

Boscia B.B. Cream SPF 27 PA++ ($38) Fragrance, color, alcohol, and preservative-free, this is great if you have sensitive skin. Willowherb helps tone down redness and irritation while licorice root helps reduce the appearance of dark spots.

Origins A Perfect World™ BB SPF 15 Age-defense tinted moisturizer with White Tea ($35) White tea helps boosts skin’s defenses against pollution and other environmental aggressors.

CC Creams

A pumped-up version of BB, the goal of CC creams (“color correcting”) is to cover up blemishes and spots while simultaneously treating and nourishing your skin. CC creams are supposed to offer more coverage than a BB cream while while containing heavy-hitting anti-aging ingredients.

Olay Total Effects CC Tone Correcting Moisturizer ($21.50). The tinted formula contains concentrations of N-acetyl glucosamine and niacinimide—the combination is reported to be "highly effective at reducing the appearance of pigmentation in six and eight weeks.”

Juice Beauty Stem Cellular Repair CC Cream ($39) Using Vitamin C, this formulation aims to repair damaged skin and boost cellular regeneration.

In addition to these picks, Chanel and Clinique will be releasing new CC cream formulations in the U.S. soon. Your skin can’t wait.
