Alexandra Nuth

As a management consultant for Accenture, Alexandra has a well-honed wardrobe full of classics with an unexpected twist. She knows what she loves and uses her clothes to help craft a professional yet approachable style that mirrors her attitude and ambitions.

What’s your daytime work style?
My daytime work style has evolved a lot since I started working. I strive to look polished but bold, and I pick pieces that are a little different (a unique shoulder on a blazer, jewel-tone trousers or a pair of my nerd glasses). I try to pick things that look like I’m ready for that big meeting—with a comfort factor that ups my confidence.

How do you take your look from office to evening?
I have an arsenal of nice dresses that I wear when I know I have an evening event. Layered with a jacket or cool cardigan they are great for day, but can easily transition to night.

What’s your weekend style?
My weekend style usually consists of dark denim and one of my signature jackets. I have a ton of that I use both during the week and on the weekend. They are my favorite multitaskers.

What’s your best piece of personal style advice?
Develop a signature style or look to stand out from the crowd. Your customers, boss and peers will always remember you and have a complete picture of your personal brand.

“Classic with a twist” sums up Alexandra’s polished work style. Here, we show you how some of our favorite pieces from EILEEN FISHER can work seamlessly into Alexandra’s wardrobe.

1. The Suede Bootie
When we want to be comfortable (but still look pulled-together), our go-to shoe of the moment is the bootie. The three-inch heel on this pair elongates the leg and gives you some added height, but the cushioned foot bed means your feet won’t be killing you by the end of the day. Gray is a fun alternative to black.
EILEEN FISHER Lift Bootie in Italian Suede and Embossed Leather Lizard, $295.00, available at eileenfisher.com.

2. The Button Down Shirt in Stretch Charmeuse
The button downs is a wardrobe essential because you can wear it so many ways. But there are many choices beyond white, blue and black. This gold charmeuse shirt is gorgeous. It’s a great piece to transition from day to night and the detailing is fantastic. This shirt is cut on the bias, ensuring a flattering drape; the placket, which hides the buttons, lends a clean line for a polished finish.
EILEEN FISHER Classic Collar Bias Shirt in Stretch Silk Charmeuse, $258.00, available at eileenfisher.com.

3. The Kimono Jacket
This red-hot kimono jacket is extremely versatile: While it’s perfect for work, it can function just as well as part of your weekend wardrobe. A shorter jacket like this one often looks great paired with a longer top; don’t be afraid to play with your proportions.
EILEEN FISHER Short Kimono Jacket in Lightweight Boiled Wool, $278.00, available at eileenfisher.com.

4. The Burgundy Pump
If you’re looking for a color with the versatility of a neutral, burgundy is ideal. You can never go wrong with a classic pump, and this pair is also wonderfully wearable all day long.  The interior platform reduces the pitch of the shoe, alleviating the pressure on the front of your foot so you can strut in comfort.
EILEEN FISHER Pure I Pump in Italian Suede, $195.00, available at eileenfisher.com.

5. The Swing Dress
We are obsessed with this bateau-neck short dress because we can see so many ways to wear it! It’s effortlessly Parisian chic and subtly ’60s mod. This dress can be worn simply (as it is shown), but it would also look great belted or layered with a jacket.
EILEEN FISHER Bateau Neck Short Dress in Georgette Crepe, $378.00, available at eileenfisher.com.

6. The Work-Friendly Track Pant
The athletic trend in fashion remains as strong as ever. It continued to show up on the runways for spring 2014. This washable silk pant is well-suited for work thanks to its clean front and pleat detail. (Bonus: The pant is sublimely comfortable, with an elastic back waist.)
EILEEN FISHER Ankle Pant with Cuff in Silk Georgette Crepe, $228.00, available at eileenfisher.com.

7. The Subtle Metallic Sweater
You can certainly take a metallic look too far, especially where work is concerned—but when used sparingly, a hint of metal suggests sophistication and luxury. This mohair sweater strikes the perfect note.
EILEEN FISHER Ballet Neck Shaped Top in Mohair Metallic Sheen, $258.00, available at eileenfisher.com.

8. The Luxe Tote
Laptops, tablets and paperwork don’t have to stand in the way of chic. The pairing of the baby alpaca knit with the Peruvian leather on this tote is sumptuously seasonal—perfect for this time of year.
EILEEN FISHER Tote in Baby Alpaca with Leather Trim, $378.00, available at eileenfisher.com.

9. The Draped Jacket
All your work jackets do not need to look alike! While you can’t go wrong with a simple blazer, it’s good to remember that there are alternatives. The drape of this neckline is stunning, and the leather strap with the buckle detail gives it just enough of an edge.
EILEEN FISHER Drape Front Buckle Neck Jacket in Boiled Wool, $358.00, available at eileenfisher.com.

10. The Wrap
Sometimes all you need to go from work to a night out is one simple but glamorous accessory. Remember the gold charmeuse shirt? During the day, you can pair it with the metallic sweater or the draped jacket. When you leave the office for drinks or dinner out, swap out your top layer for this luxurious wrap. The tassels are such a fantastic detail. (This wrap would work just as well with a dress.)
EILEEN FISHER Wrap with Tassels in Tasseled Shimmer Wool, $118.00, available at eileenfisher.com.
