It makes sense, then, that her wardrobe is as well-honed as her sentences. Her secret: It’s all in the details.

What’s your daytime work style?
Career casual. I’m lucky to work in an office that allows us to wear jeans and casual attire, but I like to put a more professional spin on my style by dressing up my outfit with heels and a chic blazer.

How do you take your look from office to evening?
Often I’ll wear dark-wash jeans with a nice blazer over a dressy tank top to work. (I have The Limited’s 678 colored jeans in a rainbow of colors.) So for evenings out, I’ll just take off the blazer, style my hair, and add a few pieces of jewelry to polish off the look. I wear Tiffany pearl earrings most of the time, and I love Stella + Dot’s simple, cute bracelets.

What’s your weekend style?
I like to be comfortable, yet still stylish. I always like to have a put-together look before leaving my house, so I’ll wear jeans and nice top with Tory Burch Revas or heels. In spring and summer, my go-to is a sundress with sandals. Right now my favorites are wedges I found on HauteLook.

What’s your best piece of personal style advice?
Find a way to incorporate your unique style into your career attire. Even if your company requires a business professional look, add a pop of color by wearing a pretty scarf or fun, classy jewelry. My personal favorite way to add flair is by wearing fabulous shoes. You can’t go wrong!

Dawn's style picks for Brittany

Brittany’s workplace calls for career casual. If that’s the case for you, consider yourself lucky: You can choose pieces that pull double duty. Depending on how you style them, your work clothes can be your weekend clothes and vice-versa. Just don’t let relaxed become sloppy—it’s important to keep things polished, even in the most casual workplace.

Brittany has polished down pat. These staples help anchor her wardrobe.

1.The Blazer
A blazer adds an element of refinement to an outfit. One piece of advice: Find a good tailor. An ill-fitting jacket looks unkempt. Small adjustments to the sleeve length, shoulders, and back can make all the difference.
Zara Double Breasted Blazer; $99.90; available at

2.The Polished Tee
The details of this tee are what elevate it above the basic top. The seam lines create a more structured fit and the back zip adds interest. Wear it on its own or layer it under a blazer.
Topshop Textured Panel Tee; $76.00; available at available at

3.The Work-Appropriate Jean
When wearing denim at work, keep it clean. Leave your favorite distressed, ripped, or whiskered pair for your downtime. Choose a jean with a great fit and simple detailing; it takes you where you want to go.
Zara Skinny Jeans; $49.90; available at

4.The Cropped Straight Leg Pant
This sophisticated cut is as modern as it is wearable. Dress it up with heels. Play it down with an oxford or loafer. The black is guaranteed to be in high rotation in your wardrobe, but try red, too, for a fun option. Don't be afraid of a little color! The tailored cut of the pant ensures you still look professional.
Club Monaco “Betia Cropped Pant”; $159.50; available at

5.The Pump (with a Twist)
Chances are good you already have a favorite pair (or two) of go-to pumps in your work wardrobe, so this pair shakes things up. The ankle cuff adds just a little edge. This is the pair that can take you from work to a night out. If these are too much for your workplace, wear something simpler for day and tuck these in your bag before happy hour or a dinner date
J. Crew “Quinn Ankle-Cuff Pumps”; $278.00; available at

6.The Loafer
Loafers are huge for fall and they are a great alternative to a ballet flat. We’ve seen every wild and wacky variation you can imagine. While we love the skull embroidery and cat faces that we have seen on some, it’s a good idea to pull back a bit for work.
Tory Burch “Tweed Chandra Loafer”; $275.00; available at

7.The Top Handle Handbag
This structured bag is a worthy splurge. While we love a roomy tote as much as an oversize clutch, the top handle handbag is one shape that feels really fresh for fall.
Loeffler Randall “The Rider Bag”; $495.00; available at

8.Statement Accessories
Statement jewelry is nothing new—but one foolproof way to build a great wardrobe is to choose beautiful basics and change up your looks with accessories. A bold necklace or bright scarf can take a look to a completely different place. (And don't forget about belts!)
Ann Taylor Striped Square Silk Scarf; $34.99; available at
