Workplace flexibility is a luxury good in the United States. A number of top companies for women list working from home as a valuable perk to attract top talent, but 9-to-5 face time is still the norm.

Since even job security for pregnant women isn’t a guarantee and American maternity leave is practically nonexistent, offering a work-from-home policy is almost the equivalent of a shiny bonus — not that you need to have or want kids to make flextime highly desirable.

In our tech-centric culture, where you can hypothetically work from anywhere (and still show your face at meetings via Skype), how much is working from home worth to you?
