What would really liberate you in life, ladies? That is, what would make you feel truly free? What are your passions? Your goals? Your dreams?
If you’re first response was, “You mean, if I had the money?” you’re our kind of freethinker! Hey, the U.S.A. may be the home of the brave, but it’s also the land of the free market economy.
So, time to break it to our flag-waving “Free Bird” friends: You are not as free as a bird now. But you can be once you’ve built enough net worth to fund your idea of personal freedom.
And just what is that? This 4th of July, we asked you to tell us about your financial freedom fantasies. Here’s what you shared with us and the DailyWorth community online:
Free to Help Fund College for Her Nieces, Nephews’ and Godchildren!
“My big financial freedom dream is to start a college account for my "kids"—all 17 of them. (I'm a hell of a Godmom and auntie =) That would be the most awesome thing possible.” – shared by marshonne
Free to Live Better with Less!
“My financial freedom dream is to have enough money to buy a camper or tiny house and live away from the hustle and bustle of a big city, with too much traffic. I want a place where I can investigate nature, have my pets and live comfortably on or off grid — spending lots of time with my granddaughter and daughter would be fantastic as well.” – shared by deborahstinson
Free to Travel Plus Stave Off Alzheimer’s!
“My financial freedom dream is visiting a new city each season with my husband. Yes, Spring Summer, Fall, Winter. I'm estimating $1,500 – $5,000, depending on the city. I read long time ago the more you travel during your younger years (pre-senior citizen), the less likely you are to get Alzheimer's. Something about the brain having to process the way other people / cultures do things makes us think more.” – shared by Zoraida Cespedes
Free to Go to Any and All Musicals (Like DW’s Own Lisa)!
Lisa, I totally feel you! I've spent approximately $2,000 so far on Hamilton … to see it here in L.A. And when Hamilton sent me an email to buy tickets for the Broadway production, well … I just couldn't NOT! So, I'm now saving for airfare and hotel to see it in NY. And I hope in 10+ years to temporarily relocate to NYC for about 6 months, solely to see Broadway shows! – shared by aprilabtbalance
Free to Live Debt-Free and Ride Her Dream SUV!
My husband and I are newlyweds saving for a down payment on our first house, while also trying to pay off our student loans in the next two years. Once those items are crossed off the list, I want to trade my beater car in for my dream SUV and not carry any debt on it. The goal is in sight, and I know with diligence (and encouragement from DailyWorth) that we can make that dream a reality! – shared by Emily Lynn
