Why do we need yet another piece of legislation?
In one widely publicized Op-Ed, conservative scholar Christina Hoff Sommers argued that we don't. Her main point: Women earn less because they make different career choices, not because of discrimination.
Others point to the research showing that women get the short end of the paycheck simply because of their sex.
